Water Treatment, Pump, and Well in Saint-Donat

Puits artésien St-Donat_Groupe H2O

Overview

We recently completed a water treatment and artesian well pump project in Saint-Donat, on the shores of Lac Blanc. The goal was to drill the artesian well while disposing of the debris as far away from the lake as possible, ensuring both safety and efficiency in the drilling process.

Project Details

  • Location: Saint-Donat, near Lac Blanc
  • Depth of the artesian well: 240 feet
  • Flow rate: 600 gallons of water per hour

We used a tracked drill rig to dig the well. This type of drill is smaller and more maneuverable than wheel-mounted drills, making it easier to position on complex terrains.

Why use a tracked drill rig?

  • Maneuverability: Ideal for hard-to-access terrains.
  • Precision: Allows for drilling in specific areas without damaging the surrounding land.
  • Flexibility: Can be used for projects where space is limited.

Thanks to this drill rig, the project was a success. We reached a depth sufficient to ensure a high water flow rate. The 240-foot artesian well produces 600 gallons of water per hour, enough to meet the needs of a medium-sized residence.

Treatment and Disinfection of the Artesian Well

After drilling, we proceeded with the disinfection of the artesian well. This ensures that the water remains clean and free of contaminants. The treatment includes the use of specific products to deeply cleanse the artesian well. Our experts then verify the water quality to ensure it is safe for consumption.

Debris Management and Drainage Systems

Since the well is located near the lake, we had to implement a drainage system to prevent drilling residues from reaching the lake. We installed two retention pits and sediment barriers to protect the environment. Our technicians also used discharge cones to direct the residues to safe areas.

Project Results

The final result was very satisfactory. The artesian well provides a consistent flow and the water is clean after treatment. Thanks to our services, the client can now use potable water without concern.
