This tank is covered with insulation, either fiberglass or better yet, polyurethane foam.<\/p>\n<p>To protect metals from corrosion, a magnesium-coated rod is placed inside the tank. By reacting with magnesium, these bacteria release sulfur. Replacing the stem avoids the rotten egg smell caused by the presence of sulfur.<\/p>\n<p>Cold water comes in through the top of the heater. It is then heated by two electrical elements, one at the bottom and one at the top, which are controlled by thermostat. Usually the water is kept at 60\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>In Quebec, the main source of energy is electricity. Your teenagers will say: &#8220;taking a hot shower, what a pleasure&#8221;! This is possible thanks to the water heater that keeps a reserve of hot water ready to be used.<\/p>\n<p>Hot water demands vary depending on the number of people in the household and their consumption habits. The size of the water heater is chosen accordingly.
